Detective Corporal Amy Owens has worked with the Gainesville Police Department since 2008. Since then, she has worked in both Special Investigations and Special Operations. Amy is currently assigned to uniform patrol division after a recent promotion. She recently left the Countywide Drug Task Force where she specialized in prescription drug diversion, prescription fraud, and overdose investigations. She trains law enforcement officers both locally and regionally on issues involving drug overdose investigations, Narcan deployment, and fraud.
Corporal Amy Owens also holds both a bachelor’s and master’s Degree from Florida International University and has presented at several narcotics conferences throughout the United States.
Amy teaches overdose investigations both via webinar and in person for Advanced Police Concepts.
