Anthony Ferrara

Anthony is currently the General Manager of Operations for Advanced Police Concepts. Although he still teaches, Anthony’s main role is to facilitate the growth and day-to-day business of the growing company.

Striving for excellence in our profession has been Anthony’s focus for almost 28 years.  He retired from Gainesville (FL) Police Department in 2023 as a Captain and Bureau Commander over Patrol Support Functions. Prior to that assignment, Anthony was the Bureau Commander over Criminal Investigations for 5 years. He has served the community and the agency in a multitude of roles including:  DUI Enforcement, Motor Unit Commander, Lead Traffic Homicide Investigator, Administrative Bureau Commander, Training Bureau Commander, and of course, years in the Operations Bureau, rising through the ranks up to District Commander.

Anthony has taught at the Santa Fe College Institute of Public Safety for over 20 years, helping develop the future practitioners of the career we call public service.   His instruction style exemplifies the word “co-learning” because he feels our best teachers are each other’s true life experiences, so sharing is a mandatory objective in his curriculum.

Anthony attended the University of Colorado (Boulder) where he majored in Business Administration and then transferred to the University of Florida where he received a B.S. degree in Advertising and Communications.
