Bleeding Control for the Law Enforcement First Responder

This is a 4 hour course focused on providing first responding law enforcement officers with the knowledge needed to mitigate severe blood loss and increase survivability in trauma patients. The course is aimed at all law enforcement officers who want to forge forward and expand their knowledge and confidence in providing top quality pre-hospital trauma care. The course will begin with an overview of available tools and case studies from prior traumatic events.  We will then cover methods for rapid decision making on responses to various wounds, self-treatment, fellow officer treatment, and providing quality care to victims.  Students will participate in hands-on tourniquet application and wound packing drills.  Training equipment will be provided, though students may bring their issued trauma kits for evaluation if so desired.
