This two-day course is designed for officers, FTOs, supervisors, and anyone who leads without relying on rank. This program challenges traditional leadership training by focusing on real-world decision-making, influence, emotional intelligence, and the micro-cultures that shape every shift and unit. Participants will practice practical leadership skills, strengthen communication under pressure, and learn to lead with clarity, purpose, and confidence in today’s complex public-safety environment.

  • The Ethical Moment: Real-world values-based decision-making beyond check-the-box ethics.
  • Influence Without Authority: Building credibility, peer leadership, persuasion, and command presence without rank.
  • Culture and Micro-culture: How shifts and units form culture, and how frontline leaders shape expectations and performance.
  • Leading Up: Communicating effectively with supervisors and command staff; disagreeing professionally.
  • Emotional Control and Psychological Safety: How a leader’s emotions guide performance, trust, and team stability during high-stress moments.
  • After-Action Leadership: Conducting effective debriefs, mentoring through accountability, and developing learning-
    focused teams.
