Detective Corporal Amy Owens has worked with the Gainesville Police Department since 2008. Since then, she has worked in both Special Investigations and Special Operations. Amy is currently assigned to the Countywide Drug Task Force and specializes in drug diversion, prescription fraud, and overdose investigations. She trains law enforcement officers both locally and regionally on issues involving drug overdose investigations, Narcan deployment, and fraud. Amy also holds both a bachelor’s and master’s Degree from Florida International University. Amy has presented at several conferences throughout the United States.
