Brandon C. Wootan is a nationally recognized subject matter expert in the fields of stalking and intimate partner violence. He currently works as a Project Specialist at the Geiger Institute. Brandon recently retired as a Police Detective from a municipal police department in Northern Colorado, assigned to the Crimes Against Persons Unit. Brandon created and led a Domestic Violence High-Risk Team that focused on preventing DV-Homicide. He started as a Police Officer in 2013 in the State of Montana and worked there until January 2022. Brandon served as an adjunct instructor at the Montana Law Enforcement Academy in the areas of Domestic Violence, Stalking, Strangulation, and Sexual Assault.
He is also the owner/operator of Light The Way Consulting. Through Light The Way Consulting, Brandon provides training, technical assistance, and expert testimony in the area of Intimate Partner Violence at a national level. He has dedicated his personal and professional life to positively impacting the lives of survivors of Intimate Partner Violence.
