This one-day course will provide detectives and investigators of all experience levels a working foundation to digital forensics and its role in modern investigations. Participants will learn how to identify, preserve, and leverage digital evidence from cell phones, vehicles, cloud services, and Internet of Things devices. The course covers critical legal considerations, including search warrant requirements and recent case law, as well as best practices for working with forensic examiners. Through real-world examples, detectives will develop the skills to integrate digital evidence into investigative strategies. Attendees will leave with tools, references, and the confidence to handle digital evidence in their own investigations.
