Lieutenant Charlie Nahrwold

Lieutenant Charlie Nahrwold has been in law enforcement for over 17 years. Charlie has been a
supervisor in multiple divisions for 12 of his 17 years of service. He has supervised divisions of Patrol,
Field Training Program, Training Division, Special Investigations, K-9 Unit, Traffic Safety Unit, Operations
Commander, and currently is the Training Commander.


For well over a decade, Charlie has been a well-known trainer in various law enforcement topics such as
Defensive Tactics, Firearms, Rescue Task Force Response, Use of Force, Active Shooter Response, De-
escalation, and Advance Supervisor and Leadership roles. Charlie is currently a lead instructor for the
Institute of Public Safety.


In addition, Charlie has worked with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) on revisions for
the Florida Basic Recruit Curriculum and helped develop and teach the FDLE De-escalation Course.
Charlie is also listed as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in various law enforcement topics in the FDLE SME
data base.


His experience in position has afforded Charlie with a wealth of knowledge in working with diverse
personalities to accomplish performance objectives, developing trusting relationships, and building
future supervisors and leaders. Charlie teaches Leadership for Front Line Supervisors for APC.
